Semana Dental en el Queen’s College

Un año más, el cuarto, el Queen’s College de Palma ha realizado nuestra Semana Dental, con un total de 26 niños y niñas que disfrutaron y aprendieron mucho con nuestra mascota Fantomas acerca de la correcta higiene dental.

Según dice la misma profesora del College «The children really enjoyed the experiments and visually seeing what happens if you do not take care of your teeth. They liked the models too as it helped their understanding. The children really liked playing the role of the dentist using the torches to look inside their peer’s mouth.

Some things the children really understood, such as explaining about what happens if you do not brush your teeth after eating/drinking sugar. The experiments helped the children with their explanation as they could visually see what was happening. The children did find some of the vocabulary difficult to understand and remember such as ‘acid’ and explaining about reactions but they did understand the idea and know that they must take care of their teeth.

The children were excited telling me each day that they had brushed their teeth twice a day for 3 minutes and they did this without me asking them».

Los niños realmente disfrutaron de los experimentos y de ver visualmente lo que sucede si no cuidan sus dientes. También les gustaron los modelos, ya que ayudó a su comprensión. A los niños les gustó mucho jugar haciendo el papel del dentista usando las linternas para mirar dentro de la boca de sus compañeros. Los niños realmente entendieron algunas cosas importantes, como al explicarles sobre lo que sucede si no se cepilla los dientes después de comer / beber azúcar. Los experimentos ayudaron a los niños con su explicación, ya que podían ver visualmente lo que estaba sucediendo. Los niños encontraron algo del vocabulario difícil de entender y recordar como «ácido» y explicar sobre las reacciones, pero sí entendieron la idea y saben que deben cuidar sus dientes. Los niños estaban emocionados diciéndome cada día que se habían cepillado los dientes dos veces al día durante 3 minutos y lo hicieron sin que yo les pregunte «.
